A Moment With Chad #2

The Dragoon library was quiet and peaceful, not a place you would expect to see Chad at and with the chalkboard from the Lair set up. But there he was this Saturday morning, sitting at one of the tables in the back of the library. Couldn't take the chance of anyone seeing him after all.

He looked around to make sure not only that the librarian wasn't in sight, she tends to get a bit touchy when people speak in the library, but also that there was no one that he knew. Now the latter wasn't an easy feat in their small town, practically everyone knew everyone.

Pulling out a piece of chalk he writes A Moment With Chad on the chalkboard and grins.

"I know, I know. Seeing me in a library is a shock for everyone out there who knows me." He grinned. "But this episode of A Moment with Chad is about books, so what better place than a library to have it."

Standing up he started walking back and forth in front of the chalkboard, making furtive glances as he does. Tapping the chalk on his bottom lip. "As everyone knows our great storyteller, and I call her that cause she writes the best stories." Winks. "Any story with me in it has to be the best."

A cough had him turning quickly but when there wasn't another sound he turned back. "As I was saying, this episode of A Moment with Chad is about books and since I am the star of the best series that is out there," Chad flashes a not so humble grin. “I will give you one of the most interesting useless facts that is in this magnificent book.” Holding up the useless fact book he gives it a loud kiss. “Thank you, Uncle Leroy.”

Walking up to the chalkboard he drew two boxes right beside each other, put squiggly lines in them. "So, in honor of our great storyteller I am dedicating this segment of A Moment with Chad to her. T.L. Shively, this segment is for you."

Chad wrote the word Bibliosmia on the board and then turned around grinning.

"Bibliosmia is the word used for loving the smell of books." He stopped and his lips pressed together. "I bet I.Q. suffers from this. Wonder if it is contagious?" With a thoughtful look on his face he leaned against the cart that was next to him.

One problem. The cart had wheels.

The cart started rolling and Chad, who hadn't expected that, ended up on his butt on the floor watching the cart roll down the set of three stairs that led to the lower part of the library in horror. The sound of the crash of the cart onto the floor below could be heard through the whole library along with the librarian hollering out who was back there.

Chad jumped up and grabbed his chalkboard, easel and chalk. Looking frantically about for the back door he whispered. "Remember you never saw me." Then as the noise of people rushing to investigate came closer he hurried out the back door.
